‘Turn Your Bloody Phone Off’ began as an idea to encourage better cinema etiquette in early 2011 and has over the years evolved into both a competition and a way of bringing together some of the most talented directors working within the genre.
This small addition to the festival ran for three years with fantastic success – we have had a wide variety of filmmakers, actors and screen personalities involved including Andy Nyman, Patrick Syversen, James Moran, Johannes Roberts, Jessica Cameron, Adam Green, Jacqueline Wright, Melanie Light, Sean Hogan, Kate Shenton and Norman J. Warren.
As Ne’er Do Well Films we worked in conjunction with Film4 FrightFest to organise the idents each year as well as running a sideline competition for members of the public to get involved and make their own idents.
After three years of the idents playing at Film4 Frightfest, Fantastic Fest, Beyond Fest and MotelX we have now stopped making and organising them but it was an immensely fun three years and we’re hugely grateful to all the filmmakers that got involved and to Film4 Frightfest for giving us the opportunity.
Below are the links to the idents we produced and also the full ident list for each year with all the filmmakers and competition winner idents as well.
