In the spirit of giving

Dear Friends and Colleagues;

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! As we leave yet another whole year behind, we (James, Russ and Evrim) at Ne’er Do Well Films wanted to drop a brief message to thank you for all your help, collaborations and company throughout the year as well update you on what will be happening with the company in the new year.

But first – as a Christmas gift of sorts to our friends & family, we’re releasing our previous short ‘Tokophobia’ online. With an amazing lead performance from Carla Harrison-Hodge, beautiful cinematography from Stephen Murphy and perfectly muted production design from Susannah Brough, you can watch the film here: (NSFW & not for the faint-hearted)

We’re happy to announce that our collaboration with Film4 Frightfest is set to continue in the new year – the ‘Turn Your Bloody Phone Off’ idents and the competition were a great success last year and we hope that we can push the envelope even further this year with more inventive and interesting ideas!

This past September, our masterclass on low-budget filmmaking was a success in Portugal and we hope to take it to other festivals in the New Year- there’s already been some interest and talks of extending it so we’ll have to wait and see to what happens.

We’re more than proud to announce that our next short ‘Abdullah’ is now in pre-production with an aim to shoot within the first few months of the new year. Without spoiling anything, this might be a different turn for us so watch this space.

It’s been a long, tiring year but we’re very happy to have done a fair amount of work and to have met other writers, directors, actors, producers, etc who have inspired us to keep pushing further!

Hope everyone has a wonderful festive period & enjoy the rest!

All the best;

James. Russ & Evrim
